SOPHIE: It's sad that Santa and the elves don't get presents for Christmas.
ME: How do you know they don't get presents?
SOPHIE: Cause they don't.
ME: Well Santa gets to eat all the cookies people leave for him.
SOPHIE: Yeah but that's not presents. I'm talking about toys. And knives and stuff.
ETHAN: Knives? Why would Santa want a knife?
SOPHIE: To cut stuff.
ETHAN: Santa wouldn't want to cut stuff Sophie. He's not a violent man.

Ethan is getting a serious volume of hair removed. It requires two trained technicians.

SOPHIE: I want to wear high-heeled shoes.
GINGER: Not until you're older.
SOPHIE: But my friend Brianna was allowed to wear high-heeled shoes when she was four.
GINGER: Hmmm...Well, I don't know about that but in our family we don't wear high-heeled shoes until we're 12.
SOPHIE: So does Andrew get to wear high heels?
