Typical
This video from the French version of "Who Wants to be a Millionaire?" made me laugh. The poor contestant doesn't know whether the moon or the sun revolves around the earth, so he appeals to the audience for help. Their response is classic French. Nobody understands cynicism better than the French.

I cannot believe that. Was that his fiance? Do you think she will still marry him?
that girl looked like she thought he was the dumbest guy ever. that was funny. so the audience was just making fun of him for not knowing the answer? silly.
I felt so sorry for this man; he obviously was totally rattled and his mind went blank.
'Cynicism' sounds like a lofty word for 'mean'....
