I love this shot - so magical! hey - been meaning to ask which camera you ended up getting - the collective funds are gathering and I am closer than I had thought to getting my digital SLR, so thought I would ask you -
Natalie- We got the Canon XTi. I love it. Some of the fancier cameras go up to ISO 3200, which would be nice, but the XTi is awesome within its range. I would definitely get it again (especially now, since it's already gone down in price since I bought it back in October!). It was definitely a big investment, and more than I thought I'd ever spend on a camera, but it was so worth it. Our old pictures look like they were taken on a cell phone camera now, and it's too bad we didn't have this camera sooner.
