For FHE this evening we picked strawberries as part of our children's continuing course on "jobs Americans won't do". This morning it was cleaning the house, this evening it was picking berries. Actually, we had a good time learning, once again, that sometimes work is fun.
Their little fingers plucked over 10 pounds of super juicy yummy strawberries that filled up our car with strawberry scent the whole way home. (10+ pounds for only $15!)
We have some strawberry sour cream ice cream chillin' in the refrigerator, ready to be churned. (This is one of the best things we've ever bought, by the way.) A bunch of the strawberries volunteered to be part of a pie that Ginger is making. If you have any suggestions for what we should do with the remaining 7 pounds of strawberries, leave a comment! (We already have several jars of strawberry freezer jam, so you'll have to come up with something better.)

I had a desert where the woman cut an angel food cake into chunks, and mixed that with strawberries that had been sliced and sugared. With whipped cream, of course. Simple but yummy.
You could freeze them and then use them for smoothies/shakes.
Strawberry waffles/pancakes.
A couple of weeks ago you shared (or I found it through a site you shared) a desert that had chocolate bowls with sliced strawberries in it. I can't find it just now, I think it's bookmarked on my laptop, but basically you melted chocolate, dipped a small balloon in it and when it was dry popped the balloon. The kids would probably like to do that.
Not very exciting ideas, I grant you.
$15 is unbelievable!
Have you tried drying the strawberries? The color may go dull, but it would be an interesting experiment. And I definitely would freeze them quickly. Place the cleaned/stemmed berries on a cookie sheet in the freezer. When frozen, place into a zip loc or other container that fits into the already well-stocked freezer. :)
Carla just gave you the idea I was going to suggest. I do it frequently and we have strawberries all year. Yummy!
Ummm hello strawberries with dark chocolate drizzled on them! Yum! And I second Judy, they would be perfect with breakfast. In cereal, granola, crepes, pancakes, and waffles. Yum.
i had a host mom who made them into fruit roll ups, aka fruit leather. i don't know how she made them but it sure was tasty. i quickly did a google search and found these so you can get started:

if you do decide to make strawberry roll ups, i would be interested to know how they turned out.
Do you have rhubarb where you are? Strawberries and rhubarb are a BEAUTIFUL combination. Strawberry-Rhubarb Crisp (or Crumble; whatever you prefer to call it); Strawberry-Rhubarb Pie, or Jam, or....
Mmmm... we have a little patch that is bustin them out left and right so you'll have to pass on your jam recipe!
